Ducklings

The children are aged between 3months – 2years, we can take a maximum of 9 children per day. The babies’ room is a very homely environment with lots of toys and equipment to help them develop and grow and meet all their individual needs. There routine is very flexible and is adapted to follow the routine from home or depending on the age of the child. The staff write diaries for children under the age of 1 yrs for parents, this includes information on their child’s day what they have eaten, slept and how they have been the diaries can be taken home for the parents also to write information in for the staff. The nursery provides milk and bottles but we do ask parents to provide nappies, wipes and creams.

The nursery has 6 large silver cross prams that our babies sleep in outside this gives the babies plenty of fresh air and a peaceful sleep we also provide blankets and winter sleep bags so they are still able to enjoy the fresh air in all seasons. We also supply cots and beds.

Cygnets

The children are aged between 2years – 3 years, we can take a maximum of 16 children per day. The children in Cygnets are a very active group and love to explore we have equipment and toys to meet their developmental needs, the children have access to a large outdoors area with an under cover sand pit.

The children routine is a more structured they have a group time which is very basic with singing, stories, colours, and numbers and musical instruments. They have planned activities which are an art activity and messy play with also other toys and equipment available for their free play. The children sleep after lunch on beds that we supply, we also ask parents to supply nappies, wipes and cream we also support and encourage potty training only once the child has been introduced to it at home and the parents have informed the staff we then ask the parents to supply plenty of clothes and underwear for the child’s training.

Swans

The children are aged between 3years – 5years, we can take a maximum of 16 children per day. The children in Swans follow a very structured day following their foundation stage planning. They have activities available to them that meet the 6 areas of development. The activities are provided both inside and outside throughout their day. The children are also able to be independent by choosing activities from the art and craft area and various other areas.

We encourage the children after lunch to lie down and have a rest; we play some classical music to help with this.
